The night of New Year’s Eve, an Antrim Township barn burst into flames, destroying it and all of its contents.
Multiple firefighters and a tanker from Adams County quickly responded to the call, made Thursday, around 10:31 pm, at 10230 Hades Church Rd. The barn, containing hay, tractors, and various other farm equipment. The 50-by-100-foot barn was engulfed in flames by the time the firefighters arrived, according to the assistant fire chief of Greencastle’s Rescue Hose Co., Tyler Myers.
According to Myers, everything inside of the barn, and the barn itself, was a complete and total loss. Nobody could locate a cause due to the extent of the damage, but he said it wasn’t suspicious.
Firefighters stayed at the scene for a little less than 9 hours, until 3:31 am on New Year’s Day.
