The Lancaster police have now arrested a suspect in a suspicious death investigation that is now being treated as a homicide.

Police say that at 8:51 AM Wednesday morning, they responded to a welfare check after a woman called 911 .

The reporting person was concerned for the welfare of family members at the residence, after one of the residents, Donald Meshey Jr., told her that there was a cadaver in one of the beds in the home and there was a head in the freezer.

Officers immediately went into the home and spoke with 32-year-old Donald Meshey Jr. Police report that he took officers to the kitchen and showed them the head.

Meshey Jr. was taken to Police headquarters to be interviewed by detectives. Officers report finding ” a cadaver doll” in his father’s bedroom that “sounded and looked like his father.”

The Lancaster County Coroner later confirmed that the head was indeed human.

Meshey admitted to stabbing the “cadaver doll” for 2-3 minutes with a knife and then dismembering the body.

Police had not identified the victim and are still conducting an investigation.

Officers report that based on the information they have at this point, Meshey Jr. was arrested and charged with one count of criminal homicide, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and is being held for arraignment.
